There are currently 3 types of support available:
- Monthly telephone support line
- Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training
- Educational Psychology Traded Services
Monthly telephone support line
The Educational Psychology Service offers a monthly telephone supportline which operates on Wednesday mornings during term time. Parents and carers (who have no current involvement with an Educational Psychology), as well as local professionals, are offered a 30-minute one-off consultation to share concerns and discuss potential strategies to support children and young people with their learning and wellbeing within the home. Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training
In addition, there is Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) Training. The cost is £450 per participant for City of York Council maintained schools (£500 for non-City of York Council schools including Academies and Independent schools). This includes:
- all 6 days of training
- all accompanying materials
- a year of supervision (6 sessions, 12 hours) from the Educational Psychology team
This course starts on Tuesday 27 January (9.00am to 3.15pm) and will run for 6 consecutive Tuesdays. It will take place at West Offices, Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA.
