SEND Youth Forum

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Youth Forum is a group of children and young people aged 7 to 25 with SEND or additional needs. You do not need a diagnosis or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to get involved. The group is for children and young people who live or go to school in York.

The group share their views and experiences, take part in campaigns and projects, complete surveys and questionnaires and help to improve SEND services. This forum directly shapes services for young people in the city and provides them with an opportunity to share their views and ideas with leaders from across Education Health and Care to create positive change.

You can learn new skills, build your confidence and meet new people.

We currently meet fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon after school. You can speak to Lauren by email: [email protected] to get involved and you can read about some of our current campaigns.

All children and young people must complete a consent form in order to take part in the SEND Youth Forum.
